This week’s kid on campus is Darrius Davidson. His mother, Pat Parker, currently works at the WWC Health Center, and his father John Davidson used to work for Public Safety. Reporter Alex Morris interviewed Darius at the Health Center with a few comments from both parents on the side. Darrius has lots of animals. He has just begun his first year of middle school and likes the new freedom it has brought him.
Alex Morris: What does your mom do here at WWC?
Darrius Davidson: She works at the health center.
AM: And do you want to do this?
DD: Um, possibly.
AM:What else would you want to do?
DD: Maybe help animals.
AM: What do you think of WWC?
DD: It’s nice.
AM: Do you want to go to school here some day?
AM: If you did what crew would you be on?
DD: Farm Crew.
AM: Where do you go to school?
DD: Owen Middle School.
AM: What grade are you in, and how old are you?
DD: I’m in the sixth grade and 12.
AM: Is this your first year of middle school?
AM: And how are you liking it?
DD: It’s more fun than elementary school There’s more freedom.
AM: What’s your favorite subject?
AM: You’d fit right in at WWC.
Pat Parker:(indicating photo of a kangaroo-like creature) Did you see our new Patagonia cavynamed Joe-Joe?
AM: That’s crazy! I guess this would be a good time to ask if you have any pets.
DD: We have lots of goats and donkeys, dogs and chickens.
John Davidson: And rabbits and guinea pigs and ferrets.
AM: Wow, that’s a lot of animals. Darrius what do you do for fun?
DD: Play in the woods.
JD: Future Warren Wilson Student.
AM: And what’s your favorite food?
AM: Do you have a favorite artist or band?
AM: Any brothers or sisters?
AM: And how’s being an only child? Are you liking it?
AM: Got any good jokes?
DD: Not really?
AM: How about bad jokes?
DD: uh uh.
AM: And your favorite color is?
AM: Do you know who the President of the United States of America is?
DD: George Bush.
AM: And what do you think of him.
DD: Don’t really know.
JD: Yeah you do, and he sucks. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer, doesn’t matter what you do…Oh, I’m sorry this is your interview.
AM: Ha, it’s okay. Darrius who are you cheering for in the upcoming election?
