The Princeton Review, U.S. News & World Report and Washington Monthly all recently ranked Warren Wilson one of the top 10 schools in the nation for service. Service is one part of an intentional effort Warren Wilson is making to prepare students for lives of engaged citizenship.
Oscar-winning producer Melissa Berton, creator of the short documentary “Period. End of Sentence.” will speak at Warren Wilson College on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. Berton is a graduate of Warren Wilson's MFA in Creative Writing. Her film sparked a worldwide conversation about menstrual justice and menstrual equity.
Attend Constitution Day on Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. in Jensen Lecture Hall. The topic will be "Gerrymandering: Causes and Consequences," led by Dr. Christine Bricker, Professor of Political Science at Warren Wilson College.
Warren Wilson College announced it will add lacrosse as a new varsity sport. The college is beginning a nationwide search to hire coaches for both men’s and women’s lacrosse teams. The coaches will focus on recruiting full teams during this academic year and will begin to practice and compete in the 2020-2021 academic year.
Through outreach programs and land management initiatives, Warren Wilson College has plans to work with farmers and landowners to develop hemp as an economically and ecologically viable crop for Western North Carolina.
