The men’s basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to defeat Crown College 69-62 on Monday night in the Owls’ home opener.
Six different Warren Wilson players scored at least nine points in the victory.
Seniors Dylan Johnson, Anthony Barringer, and Dan Jackson each had 11 points while junior Timur Oktay and freshman Justin Gonyea added 9 each. The Owls only shot 40% for the game but 14 offensive rebounds and a 14 point advantage at the foul line proved to be the difference.
Even with the close margin, the Owls were in the lead for the entire game with the exception of Crown’s Collin Hickman scoring the game’s opening basket. Warren Wilson’s largest lead was 12 in the second half.
The Owls are off for Thanksgiving and return to action at Piedmont International on Tuesday, November 27th at 7 p.m.
