I was born and grew up on a collective farm in Shandong, China. I worked on the farm during the weekends and school holidays until I graduated from high school. After graduation, I worked full time on the collective farm for five years, four of these five years as the manager of the collective factory that owned the farm. While earning my degrees, I translated more than eleven volumes from English to Chinese and have taught at multiple universities around the world. I have been at Warren Wilson College for 17 years. I stayed here because this is the best institution of higher education I can hope for. I attended five universities and taught at five universities as well. Warren Wilson is the best among them all.
