We are looking for Class Agents and Class Volunteers to help us build a dynamic Alumni Association. Class Agents reach out to their fellow alumni to support the College in a number of ways. Below are a few examples of what you, as a Class Agent or Volunteer, can do to give back to WWC:

  • Encourage your friends and classmates to attend Homecoming
  • Host alumni events in your home city
  • Host prospective student events
  • Ensure that we have up-to-date contact information for all of your graduating class
  • Nominate new Alumni Board members
  • Nominate Alumni Awards
  • Collect class notes to be included in the Owl and Spade and the Alumni Newsletter
  • Host an internship for a current student or recent graduate

Claudia Nix '69

Claudia is one of a handful of alumni who was a student during the School’s transition to a four year institution: she received both an Associate’s Degree from Warren Wilson Junior College and a Bachelor’s Degree from Warren Wilson College. Claudia and her husband Mike Nix ’70 met at WWC and live in the Asheville area. Their business, Liberty Bicycles, is a proud sponsor of WWC Athletics and the College Mountain Biking Team.

Elizabeth’s work on Recycling Crew during her time at WWC led to job within Virginia’s local government that focused on increasing recycling in the state. Later, an Americorps Volunteer position for the WNC Green Building Council brought her back to town. Currently she works as an Account Manager at a London based social media agency and lives in Columbia, South Carolina.
