Work Program Supervision: Every student works on a work crew for a minimum of 10 hours per week under the mentorship of a professional staff member who serves as the crew supervisor. Formal evaluation meetings are held by the supervisor every semester to provide the student with feedback on their professional growth, to set goals, and to help them articulate the skills they have gained.

First Year Seminar (FYS): a four credit course taken first semester freshman year that focuses on an academic topic and includes service learning experiences with a community partner. The course offers a close-knit cohort of fellow new students, exposure to the college learning process, and resources for success. A student’s FYS instructor will also serve as their pre-major advisor.

College Academic Strategies Course, EDU 1160: a one-credit term length course (seven weeks), can be taken up to four terms, rooted in the theories and practices of “Personalized and Self-Regulated Learning.” The student will meet 1:1 with their instructor weekly.
