The Campus Compass is a pay-by-semester program of additional support services designed to assist students to make a successful transition to college or to meet the increasing demands of their college experience throughout their four years as they become independent, empowered learners for life. The program is non-diagnostic in nature, and is typically a strong fit for students with neurocomplex learning styles that may include learning disabilities, difficulties with executive functioning, or a need for social-emotional support, but who do not need the intensive daily support offered by the Learning Curve program. Compass students will practice leveraging their strengths in individual and group settings to become effective, efficient learners and community members with enhanced independence. Students enrolled in the Campus Compass Program seek help above and beyond the usual support available to the general student body.
Program Features:
- Weekly individual meetings with a learning support coach specialized in learning disabilities, executive functioning, and neurocomplexity
- Access to enrollment in the College Academic Strategies course (2 credits per semester)
- Access to enrollment in the Weekly Writing Sessions course (1 credit per semester)
- Weekly meetings with a peer student mentor
- Ongoing series of topical group workshops geared towards navigating college and student success
- Individualized course advising
- Consultation with the program director during the summer before matriculation on course selection and registration for the first semester of college
- A parent webinar series that guides parents as they support their student’s college experience from afar
Program Cost: $2000 per semester (a student may participate as many semesters as desired)
*This fee can be included in a student’s cost of attendance for financial aid purposes.
