Swank focuses on feature films (including current, popular titles). This is a user-driven collection, so you will need to request titles that you would like to license for your classes. The films in Swank do not come with Public Performance Rights, so they cannot be used for general campus-wide screenings, but it’s unlimited streaming for classroom use.

  • Use the link to search the large catalog (over 30,000 titles), including feature films, independents, documentaries, plays, foreign language, etc. You will need to sign up for an account in order to request titles (it’s fairly straightforward, but let me know if you have any problems).
  • We are just entering our new license period, so it’s a good time to start thinking about requests. We can only accept a limited number per year.

Our Docuseek subscription includes around 2,400 titles of independent, social-issue and environmental films, providing access to content from renowned leaders in documentary film distribution, such as Bullfrog, First Run Features, Good Docs, Icarus and Women Make Movies. If you “Register” on the site (use your WWC email), you can view the entire catalog and request titles that aren’t part of our subscription.

Our Kanopy subscription is an on-demand collection–we only license films that you request. Their catalog includes over 26,000 films from leading producers such as Criterion Collection, PBS, California Newsreel, Kino Lorber, First Run Features, Green Planet Films, etc. and focuses on documentaries, independents, and international films.

  • The license period for these films is typically for one year from the start of the license.

Films on Demand includes titles from PBS, BBC, Films for the Humanities & Sciences, National Geographic, etc. If you find something in Films on Demand, it’s already available for use (i.e., everything you see is in our subscription package).
