MLA International Bibliography--indexes (no abstracts) critical works on literature.
PsycArticles--full text articles from about 40 American Psychological Association journals.

Alternative Press Index and Archives--indexes over 250 "alternative" (not mainstream) publications covering cultural, economic, political & social changes.  Coverage is international and interdisciplinary from 1969 to present.
New York Times--full-text coverage of the leading U.S. newspaper from 1995-present.
