WorldCat – searches the collections of libraries all over the world and indexes books, audiovisuals, & archival and manuscript materials. Also the place where you can request materials that we do not own or have access to in our library.

Check Journal Finder for coverage dates. In the "Advanced Search" of Journal Finder, you can also browse lists of online journals by subject, such as anthropology and archaeology.

JSTOR--The Scholarly Journal Archive – contains complete backfiles of key journals covering archaeology, anthropology, and history--an incredible resource.
World History in Context – a collection of reference articles, full-text articles from leading scholarly publications, an array of primary sources, images, maps and charts which provide expansive geographic and chronologic research materials for the study of world history.
AnthroSource – from the American Anthropological Association (AAA), AnthroSource brings 100 years of anthropological material online, including: current issues for 15 of the AAA's most critical peer-reviewed publications, including American Anthropologist, American Ethnologist, Anthropology and Education Quarterly, and Medical Anthropology Quarterly; includes an electronic archive of all AAA journals.
America History & Life – a great index--abstracts only (no full text)--that covers pre-history to the present for the U.S. and Canada.
Historical Abstracts – covers world history (excluding the U.S. and Canada, which are covered in America: History & Life), but only back to around 1450.
Other Possibilities:
Biological & Agricultural Index – indexes periodicals in life sciences and agricultural subjects. Index only (no full text).
BioOne – bioscience research journals focusing on the biological, ecological and environmental sciences.
AGRICOLA – for all things agricultural. Good for topics in early agriculture, domestication of plants/animals, etc. Index only (no full text).
Annual Reviews – see "Social Sciences," including "Anthropology".
Newspaper Source Plus – Selected national and international newspapers such as the New York Times, Washington Post, News & Observer, Charlotte Observer, and more.
The New York Times Historical – the leading national newspaper, with full coverage back to 1851.
