The Echo is the student-run newspaper of Warren Wilson College. The Echo is published once every two weeks, and contains news, feature stories, profiles, sports coverage, editorials and more. Everything that is published in the Echo can also be found online, where we post additional stories, photos and videos for our readers. The Echo also provides creative, multimedia coverage of the Warren Wilson campus and beyond through Reverb, “the Echo’s edgy younger sister.”
Our work crew is made of editors, writers, photographers, copyeditors and designers, all supervised by writing teacher Janet Huntley.
The mission of the Warren Wilson College Echo is to provide the student body, the faculty and staff with a credible and reliable news source, covering on-campus issues, as well as issues in the Swannanoa, Asheville and North Carolina areas that touch our community. We seek original ways to deliver and present the news — through print stories and photos, through multimedia content like videos, audio clips (“speech patterns”), blog posts and more.
The Echo strives to include and empower every unique voice within the Warren Wilson campus community. If you feel like your voice is missing, or if you have something to say, feel free to send us submissions at firstname.lastname@example.org. See our Submission Policy for more details.
