Sage Cafe is excited to announce that they’ve introduced a new menu item—the Panini of the Week! Every week, the cafe will now have a brand-new, limited-run panini created by a different Sage employee.
And you can even have these sandwiches and other Sage treats brought right to your dorm. During finals, through Thursday the 19th, Sage is taking delivery orders by phone. Delivery menus have been distributed across campus.
So far, paninis have included the Pizza Panini and the Twist—a gooey, sweet/salty variation on the popular Sweet Banana Honey, with peanut butter, banana, chocolate chips, and pretzels. Last week, there was another sweet sandwich, the Fluffer Nuteller: Nutella, peanut butter, and marshmallows. It’s was so popular, however, that the cafe soon ran out of Nutella.
This week, they’re making the Bilbo’s Bag(el) End, a tasty pressed sandwich on a bagel. It includes cream cheese, pesto, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, sprouts, and spinach.
Sage employees often spend their time behind the counter, concocting new sandwiches to make for themselves, so it’s a natural next step to create a way for them to showcase their creations. Student manager Megan Gordon came up with the Twist because, she says, “Pretzels are my favorite snack, and I love the combination of pretzels and chocolate.”
