Warren Wilson Caucus Co-Convener Elections to be held Tuesday, Dec 6. No Candidates Thus Far?

by Maddy Dillon, staff writer

Caucus Co-Convener elections will take place next Tuesday, December 6. Co-Conveners Thomas Belmore, Kyja Wilburn, and Morgan Steele will not be fulfilling their current positions next semester. Co-Convener Felicia Hall will continue her term for one more semester.

According to the Caucus constitution, Co-Conveners shall serve a term of two consecutive semesters with the opportunity for one re-election. A Co-Convener’s primary role is to empower students to influence decision making at Warren Wilson College, facilitate Caucus, and ensure that Caucus upholds its purpose.

Co-Conveners have the following responsibilities:

 a. to serve on the Student Caucus Work Crew

b. to facilitate weekly meetings (setting the agenda, facilitating the discussion, and maintaining

accurate minutes)

c. to maintain an open-door office

d. to meet regularly with the President of the College and the conveners of Forum

e. to report to the Student Life committee of the Board of Trustees

f. to call emergency meetings when necessary

No one has announced their candidacy to date. While it is preferable that candidates are current voting members, it is not necessary. If you are interested in running, contact current Co-Conveners at caucus@warren-wilson.edu as soon as possible.
