Roger Hutchison ’94, author of The Painting Table: A Journal of Loss and Joy, has been awarded the South Carolina Governor’s Order of the Silver Crescent.
Canon for children’s ministries at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Columbia, S.C., Hutchison was awarded the honor for his work with children at Trinity Cathedral and in the Columbia community. The award also recognizes his work with the children of Sandy Hook and Newtown, CT.
The Order of the Silver Crescent is awarded to residents of South Carolina for exemplary performance, contribution and achievement within the community. It is the state’s highest award for volunteer and community service.
“My love of community service and volunteerism took root in my heart and soul while a student at Warren Wilson College from 1990-1994,” Hutchison said.
