This spring marked just the second season for the Warren Wilson Road Bike Team, but thanks to an impressive spring campaign that exceeded expectations, the Cycling Owls sent a small crew to their first ever Road Bike National Championships in Richmond, Va.
First up was the Time Trial on Sunday. Riders headed out on the 20-mile course at 30 second intervals. Unlike the Road Race and the Crit, in the Time Trials riders are on their own, racing the clock. At the midway point in the race Allison was riding well, eight seconds down on her conference rival Solymar Rivera. However, thanks to a perfectly timed effort, Allison was able to pull back that time in the second half of the race, finishing in 13th, one second ahead of Rivera.
