Warren Wilson wins 2014 collegiate paddling national championships

Buying EPA sulfur dioxide credits to reduce pollution

Professor Susan Kask’s Environmental and Ecological Economics class is raising money to bid on the EPA’s SO2 (sulfur dioxide) allowances. SO2 causes acid rain, which is extremely harmful to the environment. The more permits Warren Wilson College purchases, the less will be available for big utility companies. Less permits means less SO2 in our air.
