The Fiber Arts Crew recently moved into a newly renovated studio on Fortune Property. On Wednesday, they hosted an open house so the campus community could meet the work crew and see what is going in the world of fiber at Warren Wilson College.
The Fiber Arts Crew has been producing woven scarves, handbags, runners, and rugs on looms donated by members of the local community. One large loom was a gift from alumnus Richard Bellando ’59, another loom was gifted by WWC professor Joe Young, and other gifts were made by the Southern Highlands Weavers’ Guild.
Take a look at this story about history of fiber arts at the College.
