Orientation Trip
New students said goodbye to their families and began a canoe trip that covered over fifty miles on the French Broad river. The trip, led by Outdoor Leadership major Maggie Mae Farthing ‘14, created a close-knit group and mentally prepared the new students for their upcoming orientation.

Warren Wilson’s defending national basketball champs win home debut

Rashad Ali and Ty Johnson each scored 18 as the Owls pulled away from Barber-Scotia to win 69-52 in DeVries Gym.

In spring 2013 Maggie Mae Farthing ’14 took the Program Planning and Design course with outdoor leadership professor Marty O’Keefe and developed what would become “Class I: Pre-Orientation Program.” The program Farthing organized was a canoe trip down the French Broad River for incoming first year students.
