Aug. 26 is Triad Day at Warren Wilson College, marking the start of the college’s fall semester and 2013-14 academic year.
Consistent with the distinctive nature of Warren Wilson, Triad Day offers its own start to the college’s academic year. The day blends the components of Warren Wilson’s learning Triad and its holistic approach to education.
A modified Monday class schedule will have students attending class from 8-11:50 a.m., 1-1:50 p.m. and 4:30-5:30 p.m. At 2 p.m., all students report to their campus work crews and work until 4:20 p.m. Then from 5-6:30 p.m., Warren Wilson students, faculty, staff and volunteers gather for a Welcome Picnic at Morris’ Community Pavilion on campus.
After Triad Day, students settle in Tuesday for their first regular day of classes and work crew assignments, as the college embarks on its second year with Steven L. Solnick as its seventh president.
