WWC men’s basketball team advances to USCAA national title game

The WWC men’s basketball team stretched its winning streak to 11 games Friday with a 68-46 semifinals victory over Penn State Beaver in the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships (Division II). Raysean Love, 6-2 senior guard from Burlington, N.C., led the way with 21 points, all on three-pointers. Read more about the latest victory on the athletics website.

The Owls, now 18-10 on the season,  play for the championship vs. host team Penn State Fayette on Saturday at 8:45 p.m. in the Main Arena. You can watch the game via live streaming here or you can listen here. The complete tournament bracket can be found at this link.

The campus gave the team a rousing sendoff Monday with a pep rally in front of Gladfelter Student Center that featured drummers from nearby Owen High School as well as the WWC step team. You can see coverage of the rally by WLOS-TV at about the 2:50 mark here.
