The purpose of this collaborative project is to remediate grading work done half a century ago that left spoils on the creek bank that interfere with the proper management of the area. When the area is graded, a proper fence and riparian buffer will be established using cost-share dollars from the state. Many trees will stay, and where trees are removed, the area will be re-planted with new trees that provide food for wildlife and shade the stream.
Many thanks go to Dave Ellum, Shawn Swartz and the mighty Forestry Crew for their help in restoring this area. We hope they can swing their axes better than they can swing their softball bats!
If you have any questions about the project, please contact Farm Manager Chase Hubbard.
