First WWC Chili Cook-off draws a crowd

The first Warren Wilson College Chili Cook-off Nov. 16 attracted 11 teams, more than 200 participants and coverage by WLOS-TV. Best of all, the event raised $134 for Manna Food Bank. The winning team in the overall category consisted of Jim Lauer and students Robin Dhakal, Anesh Prasai and Rojan Shrestha.

“It was an exciting event that hopefully will spark a tradition,” organizer Tawan Perry said of the cook-off, sponsored by residence life, dining services, student activities and the campus store. And, in case you were wondering, “Nobody went away hungry,” he said.
