Three advancement professionals – two from Asheville, one from Atlanta – have assumed new positions in the Office of Advancement at Warren Wilson College, Vice President for Advancement Sallie Grace Tate has announced. The appointments were effective July 15.
Ann Clark Bass, education program manager and director of the College for Seniors at UNCA since 2002, is the new director of external relations at Warren Wilson. She is charged with creating and implementing a strategic program that increases awareness of, and involvement with, the college by various constituencies.
Don Harris, formerly director of development at MANNA FoodBank, assumes a position with the same title at Warren Wilson. The director is responsible for raising a significant portion of the major gifts to the college.
Phil Leonard, administrative and financial manager for The Open Door Community in Atlanta since 2000, is Warren Wilson’s first director of advancement services. The director coordinates the functions providing support to various positions within the advancement office.
“The college is very fortunate to have these three talented professionals joining our advancement team,” Tate said. “Their experience and their belief in the Warren Wilson College mission will further strengthen our staff as we make plans and prepare for the college’s next comprehensive campaign.”
