Warren Wilson College is among 50 colleges and universities nationwide cited in KIWI Magazine’s first "Green College Report" for having "eco-friendly campuses and programs."
In recognizing Warren Wilson, the magazine notes that the college purchases renewable energy credits to offset 100 percent of its energy use, practices sustainable agriculture on its campus farm and has a strong environmental studies department. The report also underscores student work-crew initiatives such as the community bike shop and recycling of the campus waste stream.
Warren Wilson, Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are the only schools in North Carolina to be featured in the report, which also includes information on tuition, enrollment and campus setting. The full report can be found onlineat www.kiwimagonline.com .
