Jim and Kay have been making a difference as volunteers at WWC since they came to join our community in 2004. In January, they were among 14 WWC volunteers, staff and students, who journeyed to Waveland Mississippi, on the Gulf Coast just east of New Orleans, as part of Warren Wilson’s Winter-Break service learning trip. The widespread destruction and debris that was still present 4 months after Hurricane Katrina astounded the group but also invigorated their clean-up efforts. They removed ruined items from the insides of homes that hadn’t been touched since the Hurricane hit.
“The Wilson team worked very hard and tirelessly. Our students saw needs and jumped right in to meet them,” says the couple.
Where there’s hard work to be done – you’ll find the Warren Wilson community with tools in hand, ready to help.
