WWC Joins Leading Institutions

Southern University Conference

President Orr announced that Warren Wilson College has accepted an invitation to membership in the Southern University Conference, one of the nation’s oldest higher education associations, comprised of approximately 50 of the leading academic institutions throughout the South. Membership covers a geographic area from Maryland to Texas, and includes such liberal arts institutions as the Universities of Virginia, Emory, Vanderbilt, Furman, Washington and Lee, Trinity, Rollins, and within North Carolina – Wake Forest, Davidson, Guilford and UNC Chapel Hill. The only institutions invited to become new members at the annual meeting in March were Warren Wilson and Elon University. Orr indicated that "we are honored to join such outstanding academic institutions in the Southern University Conference, which is consistent with our efforts to establish national exposure for our College’s academic programs."
